We want you to meet Mahdy Elhayek and his family.

Mahdy is from Gaza, but he’s been working in Turkey since before the assault began. Ever since the bombing started, he has done everything humanly possible to support his family from afar — because distance doesn't stop love, and it doesn't stop solidarity.

His family is from the north of Gaza. After countless displacements, they have returned home. They were lucky enough to find a rented house that is still standing — though partially damaged. It’s not much. But it is theirs.

Right now, their survival depends on:

• A battery for a few hours of electricity
• A single gallon jug of water collected daily
• A wood fire to cook their meals

And still — still — they persist. Especially when it comes to the children’s education. That’s the kind of resilience we refuse to look away from.

This fundraiser exists to cover their rent, living costs, and medical expenses.

The family you would be supporting includes:

• Mahdy’s father, and his mother — who struggles with bladder and kidney problems and urgently needs regular medicine
• Older brother Ihab, his wife, and their two young children — Marwan and Imran — who are learning to read and write
• Younger brother Muhammad and his pregnant wife
• Younger brothers Muhannad and Mu’min — Mu’min is studying for his high school diploma, including learning English

That’s ten family members. Every single one of them is holding on because they still believe someone out there cares.
